The pirate's journey begins by a tiny lake far from the sea where his peg leg has drifted away during the night. (He was traveling to the lake to visit his two-legged sister, who makes amazing chocolate pirate ship cookies.) He vows to find his leg by following the moving water from the lakes to the rivers to the ocean. And he never gives up!

The Riddle in a Bottle

This is the half hour long movie that inspired A Pirate's Quest! Filmed by award- winning wildlife filmmakers Laura Sams and Robert Sams, it shows how life on earth is connected through moving
water.

Laura and Robert, a.k.a. “The Riddle Solvers,” try to solve a puzzling riddle that mysteriously floats to their inland riddle stand from the far away ocean.

Their adventure introduces them to baby loggerhead sea turtles, the rhythm of the tides, some interesting freshwater creatures and a distraught one-legged pirate.
